Meet Our Board:

Our congregation is made up of many servants and servant-leaders who love God and work to build His kingdom here in the Valley. Take a minute to meet some of them who make up our Board:

Pastor Rex Cox – Chairman of the Board, Elder

Rex, married to Sue and father of five young adults, came to MCC in 1977.  Rex is known for his teachings, both in small groups and from the pulpit.  He has a passion for learning and passing it forward.  He has served as a teacher, Deacon, and Elder. Rex is a mover and shaker and likes to stir things up and keep us on our toes!  When he’s not at church or at home working on new material, you’ll either find him at a water hole with rod in hand or in the woods hunting anything that moves!

Pastor William “Bill” Lutzko Jr. – Elder

Bill has been part of the MCC family since 1978. Over the years, he has served as a deacon, a Christian Education Superintendent, a teacher for children, teens and adults, and is currently one of our elders.  Bill is best known in our midst as a worship leader, a capacity he has been in since our worship team was formed in the mid-1980s. No matter what role he serves in, Bill’s deepest desire is to bring glory to God through it all, and to be a pointer to Jesus so others are drawn to Him.

Harry Langan – Elder

Harry has been a spiritual leader through many of the changes that came about in his lifetime at MCC. He lives with his wife, Virginia, in Zionsville. Together, they have three children and twelve grandchildren! Harry, himself, began coming to MCC in 1952.  In his years here, he has served as a Deacon, Deacon Chairman, Treasurer, Financial Secretary, Cemetery Chairman and Elder.  Although, we think of him as a pillar and depend on his eye for details and his supreme organization skills, he is well known for his sense of humor and his linguistics!

Donald Newman – Deacon

Donald came to MCC on April 14th, 1985.  He is a carpenter and resides in Alburtis with his wife, Pattie.  In Don’s 28 years with us, he has led Bible studies, taught Sunday School, counseled patrons when we had a food pantry, acted as the Asst. C.E. Superintendent,  served as a Deacon and now as Head Deacon.  Many people don’t know of Don’s resume, because Don believes in modeling Matthew 6:3. One thing is certain, if you would like to see Don exercising his passion, join us on a Sunday morning!  He’ll be the guy hiding behind the drums!

Bill migrated from Long Island, NY and currently resides in Orefield with his wife, Toni.  They have two children and 2 grandchildren.  He has been a part of the MCC family since 1995. He has served the Lord as an Usher, Deacon, and member of the Budget Committee. Bill is admired for his constant words of encouragement and is always eager to make sure that our members who cannot drive, have a way back and forth to church.  Besides the Lord, Toni, his children, and his grandsons, Bill has a burning passion for reinventing food and catering.

Susan Cox – Treasurer

Susan started coming to MCC in 1979.  In her time here at MCC, she married Rex, raised five children and is now the grandmother of seven! While juggling all of that, she has still managed to teach Sunday School, VBS, and adult Bible studies.  She has counseled patrons of our old food pantry, participated with WMS, and has been on the mission field both local and abroad.  When she’s not caught up in church “figures”, Sue loves to be surrounded by her family.

Virginia Langan – Christian Education Supervisor

Virginia, wife of Harry Langan, has been serving the Lord at MCC since 1962. She is that quiet little church mouse that is always here, always busy, but always behind the scene!  Virginia is a nurturer by nature!  She has 3 children, 12 grandchildren, and an endless list of children that she has influenced and ministered to in her years as a nurse and teacher!  She is currently the President of WMS (our Women’s Mission Society), Christian Education Superintendent, she also teaches the children on Wednesday nights and plays the piano for our services.

Tavillia Cox – Board Secretary

tavillia

Tavillia has been a part of MCC since 2005. If there is a need, Tavillia will find a way to fill it. A loving wife and mother of three, she is always busy and looking for ways to help. In the past, she has worked with the MCC youth group and ran a girls Bible study at her home. Currently, she is the VP of the Women’s Mission Society and is on the Faith Cottage Committee. When she is not at the church, Tavillia loves being with her family and friends. Organized, motivated, and loving, she is a staple in the church body.
